"Trod 'Pon This Land" - The debut cypher from The Breadsteppas collective. The track dropped for streaming only and on MP3 version in 2016. The tack features 4 vocalists and 4 unique styles represented in English, Swahili and Sheng. The track is a true electro-dancehall-hip-hop collaboration between the Breadsteppas themselves and is definately a trend-setter in terms of music and sound from the assortment of urban music emerging from Kenya.
Here is a high fidelity "Sub-Saharan Dancehall" version of the song . The song was originally composed by Mumo and Ra Ny'Kang as The Breadsteppas for a local film soundtrack. The song took on several iterations between JJ and Mumo, with Mumo composing variations on the theme and JJ remixing those.
