he Breadsteppas is a collective of artists formed in 2015 in Tigoni, Kenya. Primarily they were represented as a reggae band composed of JJSNWPRD and Ra Ny’Kang. In 2016 they joined forces with legendary producer Mumo the Sub-Saharan and DJ Sabaot and began work composing music for a Bollywood movie produced in Kenya. This led to a myriad of collaborations with local musicians and rappers including Sharama; Kimya; King Cush; Alvarez Anwar; and Fox Elijah amongst others. This collaborative work formed the foundation of the collective association of artists now known as the Breadsteppas - and the philosophy of Breadstepping. Breadstepping is a quick manoeuvre to counteract the effects of hunger by taking half a loaf of bread and crushing it down into one sandwich.
